Which Main Jet for my setup?

Post by Gereon »

Hey I am new in this forum and I am from Germany. 1 year ago I got pretty lucky with buying an abandond Honda camino Pa 50m. I cleaned it and it started right up. Because it is original really slow I would like to upgrade it. So I bought the proma circuit exhaust and the around 70ccm polini cylinderkit With this done I questioned myself with which main jet size I schould go with. For an overview my current setup:
Original Carburaetor
Original Air Intake
Proma circuit exhaust
Polini cylinderkit

Maybe someone got any experience with this setup.

My dream would be to reach 65-70 km/h. I know it might be not possible with not upgrading my air intake and gear ratio.
Maybe I will upgrade my gear ratio but first I would try without. Will the original crankshaft work? Because I am a young student I have a low budget so buying the 21mm Malossi Dellorto or upgrading to a racing crankschaft would not be the first opertunity for me .

If you have any tipps for me reaching my goal it would be so cool when you tell me.

Bye Gereon

Hey Gereon,

Is it a variomatic or mono transmission system on the camino?
The Polini is actually a 65CC kit and it should work fine with the default jet size in the carburator.

Maybe @camino_expert can tell more about the jet size in the carburator and if it would be better to make it bigger.

Hey, thanks for the quick response.
The camino has a mono transmission system. But i guess i could change the ratio with sticking to a smaller rear belt pulley (Riemenscheibe) then it has a better top speed. Is that right? Or do you have a better idea?
For the main jet size I think I go with 78.
Anyway, I broke my arm few days ago so my first test drive still has to wait.

hello gereon

a mono transmission
in germany org they are justa bout all mofa 25 p h

in belgium we got a 40 ph mono engine

the diameter is off a another messure
kl b 40 a 45 p h is yje mono drive pulley bigger diameter front , unt hinetn is it smaller

for the mofa 25 p h tere exist little riemscheibes fort the hinten gear

80 unt 70

and you need the fitting belt

witch the little scheibe hinten
malossi 64 cc of dr unt polini and with a sito exhaulst it does 55 p h on the kl a engine whith less rpm

the high rpm destroys the cilinders on camino vario mofa 25 p h unt the mono also
they have no forced aircooled engine

DO not PUT a delorto 21 mm on that engine

75 main get is ok 78 max

in belgium we got teh kl B mono engine
the gear rea is a cm smaller than on the mofa 25 gear
but die scheibe on the kl B gear ist conisch
so than xhit this you need to change the total gear
but like al said

there exist smaller scheibes for to place on the mofa 25 gear

in belgium to find

gear 80 is not so difficult
belt is maybe another roblem

i set messures fo the 80 unt the 70 scheiben

for the 80

1040 of 1041x10

for the 70

1030 of 1031 x 10

org belts where from brand

optibelt

if you got more questions
just ask
its possible that the answer coms a few days later
but i always answer
good luck

i can also as you wisch , ein bissche schreiben in deutsch must u das willen

Vielen Dank für die ausführliche Antwort.

Did I understand it right? The kla engine makes less rpm than the klb engine? Why is that? Because it has a smaller air intake? Are there more differences between them?

If it is no trouble could you link the 80 diameter rear pulley?

hallo
nein
die kl a machts mehr rpm dan ein l B motor

the kl a engine makes more rpms than the kl B

why oder warum
kl B engine mono oder vario goes org 40 kmph

as you force the kl a engine ohne adjustment it goes inn alot of rpm , as you wabt to let it go faster

and your cilinder gets heated up , en is quick broken

so
a help on teh kl a engine is rear the 80 mm poulie

here in belgium sometimes you find one
i will search a picture of link , its here on this site

viewtopic.php?t=33736&start=30

maybe i knnow a guy ho has one
i wil ask off he sells it

good luck and succes
