Scooter Crankshaft & Clutch in Honda Camino??

Post by DrOetker »

Hi,
i want to start a Honda Camino project. I want to fit a Piaggio scooter cylinder kit on the Camino engine... I wonder if i could fit also a crankshaft from a scooter into the Camino engine?! Which crankshaft would be most suitable for that? Then i could use a scooter variator also i think? What about the clutch? Can i fit one from a scooter?

thats alle posibel, you have to change it al (crankshaft/carter/...) to make it fit and that isn't an easy job

piaggio is the most ''easeast''to change it for a camino.

good luck and sorry for my bad english

Hi!

Maybe you should take a look on my website, i'm also busy fitting a LC-scooterkit on my Camino....

It's not like yours a Piaggio-kit, i'm using a Minarelli-horizontal cylinder....

Now testing with te 50cc stock-cylinderkit, just for the fun....:
First page, just when i bought it!
The second page
The page YOU! want to see......!:)

When the shop calls me there's lying a Metrakit Pro Race to be mounted on a new to build engine with the electronic ignition & starter of a Honda PX......Image

***EDIT!*** Forgot to say, i'm NOT! using a scooter-crankshaft, there will be a normal Camino-clutch with Malossi-clutchsprings from a Kymco DJ50 scooter.....;)
Don't (yet) know wich and ìf there's a crank that'll fit the Camino-engine..

When i'll figure it out, you'll find it on my site......

Thanks for your Posts. I know that fitting a crankshaft from a scooter is not that easy, I think I have to enlarge the place where the crankshaft-bearings fit in (i don't know the English word for it, in German it's "Lagersitz" :-D). If this is done, i could use also a scooter-vario. But i want to build the Camino for sprints against scooters. I don't think i will have much chance when i use the original clutch (even with other clutchsprings) then... :?

Not sure, but there is someone out here who uses a Mino to sprint against scooters....

If the only problem you have is to fit a scootervario on the shaft don't do it....

There are more ways to get in Rome, like they say in the Netherlands....:)

Try to enlarge the hole of the scootvario on a milling machine, also put the clutch-bell in the "draaibank"(milling machine wich turns the object around, dunno how to call it....;))

If you'll do it that way i'm quite sure that's less work than your idea!!

Fixing a scooter-crank is not the problem.
It´s very easy after that using a scooter-vario.
The only problem is changing the Clutch to the back.

The bearing-seat is the same, you only have to use SKF 6004 Bearings!

Somebody here can explain me the changing from the front to the back???
