Fitting another engine?

Post by danmyhr »

Hi!

I'm a bit sick of my old worn out Camino engine, and was thinking of remove it and insert another engine. I've found a 4-stroke 50cc engine with 4 gears, it would be great to have a brand new engine! :d Another advantage is that it has a electric start (no need for pedaling :) ) and it's also 12V, then I would have more power for better lights. It's a lot of dark roads here in western Norway! :)

here is a link the Norwegian internet shop where i'm thinking of buying it from:
http://www.crash.no/index.php?main_page ... cts_id=684
(it's quite cheep as well ca 3000,- NOK, about 300 Euro)

What would be the hardest by changing the engine? I know I have to remove the vario-belt thing, make a foot brake, fit a handle clutch...

What do you think about that? Possible??

It is possible , on the forum their is allready somewone who has done this .
But My oppinion is that it will be very hard . :!:
You will have to make a new rearbridge .
because this one isn't made for that 4 stroke engine .
You better allsow make new brakes , becaues the original brakes aren't very reliable
with those high speeds..

Grtz ,Bernie .

Do I have to enhance the breakes if I'm not going to use a larger engine? I'm not thinking about a 125cc, but a 50cc engine. :)

Do the person that made the 125cc Camino have som kind of hints or tips, or maybe a walk through? Google does a pretty bad job translationing from Dutch to English. I can't get much out of it. In my dreams, http://www.camino-tuning.be would be in Norwegian language or at least English :)

What would be the most difficult in this project?

Google can't do a good job because most of the users here don't write in good dutch, they use dialects.. In forum setting you should be able to set the forum language to english .. but still, the posts won't change language.
Wait for it, Wait for it... LEGENDARY!
