Hi All
Iam Alfredo,i have just join in this group.
i just got a camino probably a 70s model, i need some help before i start stripping the whole bike.
i want to start it but the carburator over flows and wont start, there current, and if i spry some petrol direct in the engine she just starts...
i think the carburator is blocked some where...can i do something before i go anyfurther??
i appreciate some help.

hoi alfredo,
the problem might be inside the carburator...problebly the carburator has dust or dirt inside...
the thing you best do is,take the carburator of the motorblok (the 4 screws), disconnect the bottom with 2 screws
then you might see the little bit of orange u form plastic with a little pin,yeah disconnect the pin
(watch out,even a more little tiny pin with a black point is inside the pin witch one you just disconnected)
you got to remember you got to fix it back when its all cleaned like you disconnected it...
when you take out al te little parts use a air-compressor,and blow al the chanels where dirt or dust can be,
do it very good and desent...

now put the tiny little black pin in its place,take the orange u form and connect it with the pin...
you got to place the bottom of the carburator with the little pipe to its right...
turn the 2 screws tight...
never let any dirt in the open motorblok...place the carburator back on its place,turn the 4 srews tight,bud not with al your power you have,just tight...if you use to many power the screws will be broken, and then you have a broken srew in your blok...

Thanks for your reply, i took the carb off and found out that the float is perfurated and damaged( some one fiddle around and its in no use) i may have to get another one, i have asked a local bike shop to get me one, will see otherwise is that possible to get a new one??
in meantime i am going to clean everything up, the top plastic covers are in bad shape can we still get new ones??

All most the same as my girlfriend her camino.
But you've got a B-klasse = 45 km/h.
That's nice. She has a A-klasse = 25 km/h.
And a mono poulie

very happy to meat some one from outside belgium
how is the weather with you there in portugal...
we had the last 2 weeks very sad and bad weather,much rain...
here it is sunny with little fluffy clouds ,some where like 25 degrees
for the rest of the week and w-end is it camino-weather...

thanks for your post, acctually this bike is for my honda colection, since i cant afford a cd50, this as a trade in for a s800 gearbox i had extra..

yes the weather here has been terrible, a few sunshine days and some cold ones...i think August and September is best months to come.
I will see if i can get the parts needed here.

I manage to fix the float, i got engine going, but i canot adjust the air screw...with choke on seems ok but choke off, it keeps on acelarating canot control it down...how do set this up??

isn't your gas cable to tight on the carburettor side?
If you turn the screw for idling to the left the motor should run slower.
Eccept if the gas cable is to tight on the carburettor side.

That could be. Ill check tomorrow About the Air screw how many turns must i bring back from in position ? Thanks

Turn it al the way in. Than 360 + 90 degree out.
That's your basic configuration.

Drive the camino warm. Always configurate your carburetor with a warm engine.

From there you must listen to the rpm.
The air screw must be so that the engine makes the most rotations per minute.
If the wheel turns, adjust the leftmost screw, that controls the gascable.

Now it's time to take it for a spin. Make sure your brakes work!
From there, you should drive at full speed. Then immediately shut down the engine.
Than check your spark plug.

The color should be coffee with milk brown.
If i'ts black, it means the bike get's too little air >> turn the air screw looser.
If it's white or gray the bike get's too much air >> turn the airscrew tighter.

(about a quarter each time)

than again drive a bit full speed, and check spark plug again.

Be careful with the sparkplug, don't turn it to tight.

Ok i will do that, its more or less the same as my s800 carbs, you mean that when idling the rear wheel should not turn ?
