Long Honda Camino Trip - John O'Groats to Land's End - UK

So this year I'm attempting, with a large number number of friends, to do 1001 miles from the top to the bottom of the UK.

While some people are doing it on F1SE's and new Peugeots, me and another bloke both bought the Mighty Honda Camino!

Mine is a 1982 in black.

I've created a blog where I've tried to get some data together and put some of my thoughts on the trip.

Its going to be mental, but I'm really looking forward to it.

I'm not sure if I'll be keeping the back box, its quite large and we'll have a number of support vans to carry my stuff so I'd be happy to lose it to go faster or perhaps get a more comfortable seat. There is a good chance I'll be riding for 6-8 hours a day!

It looks like a nice Camino to do the journey with. But indicators are very important on a trip that far.
You know what to do next.

Also it's a great concept, driving for the cancer foundation.

Hope to hear more from your trip and how your beautiful Camino survived the journey.
You shure got to show us more pics of your moped and the tour!

No indicators has been 'exciting' for the trips I have done so far!

But the Camino hasn't got a battery, how would I retro-fit them?

Its a great charity to do stuff for - we are a group of VW enthusiasts who have been supporting Brad's Cancer Foundation for a long time.

It all came about from someone who fancied something 'different' to mark this year....it will certainly be different....but DEFINATELY not easy.

Make sure you stop enough, at least every hour. Very important to not overheat the cylinder and to not suffer with your back

I think we are doing stops about every 2 hours. We are trying to make sure we stop regularly not only for petrol, but also our health!

There are some on the blog.... and also a video of me removing the rear wheel (be warned, there is some serious injury and blood!)

We've got some serious wind in the UK at the moment, but the bike hasn't blown over!

Well I spent last weekend fixing the slipping chain and loose rear wheel. Easy jobs.

When I then took it outside to start it up it worked fine. But the moment I tried to take it out for a ride it cut out and wouldn't re-start!

I'm hoping its just run out of petrol so i've got some to put in there but someone has mentioned that they have a 25:1 mix as recommended in the service manual. My Camino has a sticker on it advising a 5% (20:1) mix.

I've not added the 2 stroke oil to it yet so I guess I'll just have to wait and see.

It had run out of petrol.

Had it running this afternoon so I know it is working.

I felt very stupid for running out of petrol!

2 weeks on Thursday we leave for our trip!

I did a big trip without indicators and without liscence plate, never had the cops on my tail (maybe because i shot them

)
