Honda Camino 1981 Start Problems

Post by cybermc »

Dear Camino specialists

I am from germany and do have some start problems with my camino, which i am going to restaurate.
The carburetor ist cleaned, the ignition is checked and i do have a blue spark at the spark!

when i kick the camino on, then some small ignitions are there and the engine seems to start , but there is no really engine operation!

when i turn the gas throttle at the strat moment nothing changes! Fuel is in the chamber , and also when i give some fuel in the hole where the spark is, nothing changes?????
The membrane is also checked , it opens easily and it seemed to be there no wrong air out of the engine!!

What could be the problem????

Please help me!!
Thanks a lot
Markus, a honda owner from Germany!!

do a little bit gas, start liquid or something in the hole where the bougie(spark) is, try to start... if he starts for a little moment then you know it's a carbu problem... camino carburators is a lot of misery.you have to clean them very good...
is the compression good ? you say the ignition is good because you see a nice blue spark

thank you for your answer!#

Yes the spark is blue and i checked the ignition about opening the contact braker ( is about 0,3mm at position f!
I think that would fit!

I have cleaned the carburetor but i will do it twice now!
Is there a picture about the funktion and pieces of the keihin???
or a handling paper?
Has somebody ever used a other carburetor than the keihin bb20b???

Thanks a lot!

compression is wonderfull!

on this forum you only find carbu cleaning topic about the original camino carburateur, its with pictures...
the important thing is you have to remove all the screws from the carburator and clean all little holes with air-pressure

i hope you fix it greetz

Thank you all

I have changed the carburetor to one i bought, and it is quite the same as before!

Could it be that the ignition does not what it should do???

It it helpful to make a short video of the spark on the bougie???

Thank you i have no idea, waht it can be!
Greetings
